Truck loaded with refrigerators, engulfed in flames on the A1 highway. The semi-trailer was almost completely burnt
A strong fire broke out on Thursday evening, May 28, at a road train located on the A1 Highway, on the Timișoara – Deva direction. The semi-trailer of the vehicle, loaded with refrigerators, was 80% engulfed in flames, and firefighters intervened to extinguish the fire.

According to the Timiș Emergency Situations Inspectorate, the emergency call was received around 5:25 p.m.
“We were requested to intervene to extinguish a fire that broke out at a road train on the A1, at kilometer 459, on the Timişoara-Deva direction. Three fire trucks from the Lugoj Detachment and the Topolovătu Mare Work Station and a 30,000 l tank truck from the Timişoara Fire Department 2 were urgently dispatched to the scene of the event.” the representatives of ISU Timiș sent.

When the intervention crews arrived, the firefighters found that the fire was widespread in the semi-trailer.
“The tractor head has been disconnected and is not affected by the flames”, the firefighters also specified.
The semi-trailer was carrying refrigerators, and the fire quickly spread to almost the entire load.
Authorities are yet to determine what started the fire. So far, no casualties have been reported.
