Sorin Grindeanu surprised by the president Nicușor Dan: “For me it is a pleasant surprise”

Sorin Grindeanu declared during the Adevărul Interviews that he is pleasantly surprised by the way the president manages the political crisis and the events that led to its outbreak. The PSD leader states that if Nicușor Dan entrusts him with the mandate to form a government majority, the social democrats are ready to come up with several work options.

Grindeanu says that he was pleasantly surprised by the way the head of state handled difficult situations in the last year, appreciating his willingness to constantly seek solutions and unlock political impasses. At the same time, he rejects speculations about an agreement between the president and the PSD, stressing that “this is not the case”.
“I don't know what the president can do. I don't think you do, and neither do I. I've seen some of the things the president has said in recent weeks as a general framework, and I think he's not going to deviate from what he's said so far: a solution, the public said, a solution and a clear majority of pro-Western parties to get things going.
So, as a man, he is very polite. With his lordship, before he was president, with Mr. Nicușor Dan, I think I crossed paths two or three times. Me being the Minister of Transport and him the Mayor General, on various issues. I appreciated during this period, without knowing him to be able to appreciate him, the fact that, every time, since last year, he is always looking, trying to find solutions, to move forward, to unblock the situation. This is a job I appreciated“, says the PSD leader.
“He tried every time to find solutions, yes, for me it is a pleasant surprise.”
He admits that the impression about the head of state has changed over time, since in the past the two were in opposing camps from a political point of view.
“For me, opposite to what I had as an image before, never being in the same political camp, PSD and Nicușor Dan, it is a pleasant surprise. President Nicușor Dan, the way he managed things this year, for me, through the way he tried every time to find solutions, yes, it is a pleasant surprise.”
Asked if there is an informal agreement with Nicuşor Dan regarding certain solutions to solve the crisis, he emphasized that he publicly assumes that “this is not the case”.
