Dominic Fritz explains why the USR will not vote for a technocratic government: “The solution can only be political”

The USR will not vote for the inauguration of a government in which the PSD is a part, nor for a technocratic one, because this would only be “a screen for the PSD to control the levers of power”, said Dominic Fritz on Monday after the consultations in Cotroceni.
The USR delegation spent about an hour in consultations with the president, the longest period among all parties. Dominic Fritz described the discussion as “long” and “honest”.
He specified that he communicated to the president what USR does not accept: governance with PSD and technocratic government.
“This crisis is eminently political, therefore the answer must also be political, the solution can only be political. It is also the reason why we will not be able to support a technocratic government that would only break the relationship between political responsibility and political power. We will not be able to support a government that is a screen for the PSD to control the levers of power in the Romanian state”, stated Fritz.

And the PNL announced during the consultations that it opposes a government in which the PSD is a part, as well as a technocrat prime minister that has ministers from the PSD.
“The PNL will no longer support a Government and will no longer participate in a Government in which the PSD will also be found. We will not support a Government with a technocrat prime minister, in which the PSD will also be found. In the context in which the PSD will be in government, the PNL will be in opposition”, said Ilie Bolojan, at the end of the consultations with Nicușor Dan.
Instead, George Simion asked the president to give AUR the mandate to form the future government.
