In Krasnoyarsk, work has begun to improve Surikov Street. Currently, archaeological research and preparation of the territory for renovation are simultaneously being carried out on the site.
As the mayor's office said, archaeologists began work due to the fact that the street is located in a special historical zone. In the area near the temple, the old covering has already been dismantled and temporary structures have been installed for researchers. In addition, the contractors brought in new granite side stones.
Let us remind you that Surikov Street is one of the three transverse streets of the historical center that will be improved for the 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk. The work will take place in the area from Dubrovinsky Street to Markovsky Street.
The main changes will affect the pedestrian zone. Multi-format paving stones will be laid there, which will divide the space into several functional zones – façade, transit, technical and landscaping. There will also be granite drops along the street, new street furniture and updated lighting.
All wires are planned to be removed underground into cable channels, and new supports and lamps will be installed on the street. In addition, as part of the improvement, the landscaping will be updated. Experts have already examined the existing trees: some of the emergency plantings will be removed, and large trees, shrubs and perennial plants will be planted in their place.
The work will also affect the roadway. Under the national project “Infrastructure for Life”, contractors will update asphalt, road signs, markings and other elements of road infrastructure. The improvement is planned to be completed by the fall.
