This is why raspberries burn already in May: even experienced summer residents can get pierced – check yourself

If you see burnt raspberry leaves in the garden, although the summer heat is still far away, then there may be two reasons. The first is overfeeding with nitrogen, and then you will have to urgently feed the plant with other macroelements. The second reason is the dry May winds, which draw all the moisture from the leaves. Fortunately, there are ways to save the harvest – an expert from the Volga Garden Zen channel spoke about them.

How to save raspberries when overfed with nitrogen

Signs of overfeeding are sharp growth of raspberries, loose leaves and their burnt edges. The reason is that the plant grows faster, but the tissues strengthen much more slowly.

In this case, urgent feeding with potassium monophosphate will help. Dilute 10 g of fertilizer in 10 liters of water and water the plants at the root. If there is no effect, repeat feeding after 10 days. Then the raspberries, instead of growing tops, will put all their energy into setting berries.

What to do in dry winds

May is a period of dry winds that literally suck moisture from the leaves. The soil at the roots remains moist, but the tops become dry and brown.

Simply watering raspberries more often is not enough – the roots do not have time to supply moisture. Urgent help – Kornevin solution (1 g per 1 liter of water). The product will help the raspberry grow suction roots, and then the roots will begin to quickly extract moisture from the deeper layers of the soil.

It is useful to cover the tree trunk circle with mulch of straw or cut grass 10 cm thick.
