The head of the Office of the President (OP) of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, arrived in Lithuania on May 11, where he holds a number of meetings with Lithuanian officials. This was reported by the Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT.
According to the publication's sources, Budanov is scheduled to visit the Lithuanian presidential office and other government institutions, where he will meet with representatives of the country's defense and security sectors. The main topics are issues of regional security, support for Ukraine and coordination of further cooperation between countries.
Lithuania remains one of Ukraine’s main allies within NATO and the European Union, the publication emphasizes. Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Vilnius has been providing military, financial and humanitarian assistance to Kyiv.
“Budanov’s name is associated with several high-profile Ukrainian operations against Russia and in territories occupied by Russia, in particular with the explosion in 2022 on the Crimean bridge connecting Russia with the annexed Crimean peninsula,” noted the Lithuanian media.
