Gordon won the case against Russia in the ECtHR – the decision created a precedent regarding statements about Russian aggression
The ECtHR recognized that Russia violated Art. 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights, limiting freedom of speech regarding the war in Ukraine. The court confirmed that the Russian Federation systematically suppresses dissent, criminalizing any statement that contradicts official propaganda.
The decision was made in a record time – in 2.5 years, although usually such cases are considered for 5-10 years. Gordon's case was one of the few that the court considered individually.

“I never doubted that I would win this case against fascist Russia. I am sure that this is only the beginning, and sooner or later she will answer for everything,” commented Gordon.
