On the night of May 8, the troops of the aggressor country Russia carried out more than 140 attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian defense forces at the front. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced this on Telegram.
According to him, at night Russian troops carried out 10 assault operations, most of which were in the Slavic direction.
They also carried out more than 850 strikes with drones of various types: FPV, Lancet and others. They also targeted attack drones, the head of state noted. According to him, the use of reconnaissance drones in the skies of front-line communities did not stop.
“All this clearly indicates that on the Russian side there was not even a simulated attempt to cease fire at the front,” Zelensky said.
The head of state emphasized that, as at the end of the past day, at the end of today Ukraine will act in a “mirror manner.”
“We will defend our positions and people’s lives. Russia must end its war, and everyone will really notice this when the movement towards peace begins,” Zelensky added.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in total, 208 military clashes were recorded at the front over the past 24 hours. The Russian military attacked most actively in the Pokrovsk direction – there Ukrainian defenders stopped 33 assault actions of the invaders.
