Pini Zahavi, the agent of the Polish striker and the German coach, met with Barcelona sporting director Deco, president Joan Laporta and vice-president Rafa Yuste. The purpose of the talks was to finalize the contractual aspects of Hansi Flick and discuss the future of Robert Lewandowski.

The situation is complicated by the fact that Flick is going through a difficult period after the recent elimination from the Champions League. However, the Catalans have a clear plan with him – they want to extend his contract by one year, with the option of an additional season, conditional on achieving specific results.
Sources from the club's entourage emphasize, however, that his employment for the entire term of the current president, i.e. until 2031, is very unlikely.
“Flick has his own schedule and will decide on his future when he thinks the time is right, not when the agent or the club tells him. We have to be patient.” said anonymous representatives of Barcelona, quoted by the newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

In these complex negotiations, Deco plays a key role, having a very good relationship with Flick. The continuation of the collaboration with the 61-year-old coach could ensure the stability of the technical staff at least for part of the mandate of the current management. However, his previous statement calls this into question. “This will be my last club and my last job,” Hansi Flick stated some time ago.
Although attention is currently mainly focused on the future of the experienced coach, discussions with Pini Zahavi have also focused on Robert Lewandowski. Flick's decision will influence the further development of the team and the collaboration with key players, including the Polish striker. This uncertainty also raises questions about the stability of Barcelona's entire sporting project.
