In Russia, over the year, sales of cars have been reduced almost half. This was reported by the AEB Automobile Products Committee.
In March 2025, 82.6 thousand cars and light commercial cars were sold in the country, taking into account alternative supply channels. This is 45 % less sales of March last year. In general, for the first quarter of 2025 in Russia, sales were reduced by 26 % compared to the same period of 2024. In total, 254 thousand cars were sold.
According to the chairman of the automakers' Committee, Alexei Kalitsev, the financial burden and the expectation of customers have been able to return the company that have left Russia.
According to AEB, the trend of reduction in sales in the car market can lead to a crisis in the industry.
