Dilute 1:10 – and onto the path: the grass between the tiles will disappear in 1 day

Surely many summer residents are familiar with this situation: as soon as they develop a plot with soul, nature begins to violently return everything back to a wild state. Just level the path, adjust each tile, spend a lot of effort, and within a couple of weeks green shoots will appear in the joints. At first they are almost invisible, then the grass grows in clumps and the tiles begin to stick out.

The author of the Zen channel “Master Sergeich” (12+) tried several methods to solve the problem. At first, hand weeding was used. They used a knife, stiff wire, even a homemade hook. It only helped until the first rainstorm. Then they tried pouring boiling water over it. It took several full kettles, but only small grass was burned. The roots remained intact.

But there were two working options.

Recipe No. 1: Vinegar, salt and detergent

  • Water – bucket (10 l)
  • Table bite (9%) – half a liter
  • Salt – one tablespoon
  • Dishwashing liquid – 10 drops

Everything is combined, poured into a garden sprayer or simply into a spray bottle and generously passed over the entire growth. It is better to do this in the late afternoon, when the sun is no longer shining. By morning the greenery will turn yellow, and during the day it will turn into dry blades of grass. All that remains is to pull them out of the ground – they come out easily, with a root.

Recipe No. 2: Alcohol solution

Take alcohol and dilute it with water in a ratio of 1 to 10, then treat the weeds. This option works, but the result does not come as quickly as with vinegar. Changes are noticeable within a day or two.

Prevention: how to forget about grass in joints for a long time

It’s not enough to just remove the weeds—you have to prevent them from coming back. To do this, do this:

  • If the path is new: the seams are immediately covered with sand and cement (ratio 1 to 6) and lightly moistened with water.
  • If the path is old: carefully remove the soil from the cracks, put the same mixture there and level it.

“After the vinegar solution and cleaning, my paths have been clean for three months now. And now I spend my evenings calmly on the veranda with tea,” notes the author.
