A resident of Samara was mistakenly charged 1.7 million rubles for the debts of a Krasnoyarsk resident

The bailiffs mistook the Samara resident for a debtor from Krasnoyarsk and wrote off 1.7 million rubles from his accounts. The regional prosecutor's office spoke about this.

According to the supervisory authority, at the beginning of 2026, due to the coincidence of the last name, first name, patronymic and date of birth, forced collection measures were taken against the man, although he had nothing to do with the debt.

After the Samara resident’s appeal, the prosecutor’s office conducted an inspection, which confirmed the fact of an erroneous write-off of funds.

As the supervisory authority clarified, a similar situation has already occurred before. Then the money was returned to the man, and he himself was added to the register of erroneously identified debtors to avoid a repetition.

This time, the illegally withheld 1.7 million rubles were also returned in full.

A proposal to eliminate the violations has been submitted to the head of the regional Office of the FSSP; its consideration is under the control of the prosecutor's office.
