In the Krasnoyarsk flora and fauna park “Roev Ruchey” the results of voting on the choice of nicknames for two female white reindeer were summed up.
The townspeople were asked to help with nicknames on April 16. In the comments, residents offered 569 options. A total of 248 comments were left under the post. The results were summed up later than planned, as park specialists checked that the selected nicknames were not repeated with the nicknames of other zoo pets, of which there are almost 10 thousand.
As a result, the snow-white deer were named Heta and Keta. Kheta is a river in the Taimyr Dolgano-Nenets region of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Also called one of the villages in the north of the region. Keta is a large freshwater lake on the Putorana plateau.
“Each name shone in its own way: tender, like a polar morning, powerful, like a Siberian river, or tremulous, like reindeer moss under the snow. Honestly, a whole map of the Krasnoyarsk Territory has unfolded before us, woven from your love for your native nature and culture,” Roeva Ruchea specialists spoke about the names proposed in the comments.
The park noted that when choosing, they took into account the sound of nicknames, their uniqueness and connection with the nature of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
