“No way to write them. It would be a total abuse of them.” Oana Gheorghiu responds ironically after the reactions to the e-mail sent to parliamentarians

Deputy Prime Minister Oana Gheorghiu tells, on Friday evening, that many parliamentarians to whom he wrote asking them to vote on the censure motion according to their own conscience, not according to the order from the party leader, got angry, even though they received the messages on the emails listed on the Parliament's website, according to News.ro.

“I want to apologize publicly to those parliamentarians whom I have inopportunely allowed to send them an email in which I invited them to vote according to their own conscience, not according to the order of the party leader. More seriously, I understand that some parliamentarians were angry because I allowed myself the audacity to write to them on their personal email, which is posted on the website of the Chamber of Deputies and that of Senate”, Oana Gheorghiu wrote on Facebook on Friday evening.

She adds, ironically: “As a penance, I want to launch a public appeal to all Romanians – Please write to your parliamentarians by e-mail, by message on Facebook or in the comments to ask them to vote according to their conscience, not according to the order of the party leader”.

According to her, “it would be a total abuse of them to disturb them and ask them to commit such regrettable gestures”.

Gheorghiu announced, on Thursday evening, that he sent “a personal message” to all parliamentarians, in which he appealed to them for “wisdom and courage”. She explained her approach, stating that “every parliamentarian has the right to express his vote on the no-confidence motion with all the correct information at his disposal, not their distorted version”.

The deputy prime minister insists that the censure motion is based “on a false narrative: that this government would like to 'sell the country'”.

“It is nothing but a manipulation designed to create hysteria in society, built on the reminiscences of the 90s, when the same slogan created the space in which others plundered it, stole it and used it exclusively in their own interest”, added Oana Gheorghiu.

“I have every conviction that the elected representatives of the Romanian people will exercise their vote on Tuesday not out of obedience to a party leader, but out of respect for the Romanians who have given them their trust. History will remember with gratitude those who saved the country from chaos, not those who pushed it towards it,” she added, in the online post.
