MegaFon demonstrated the best result in terms of data transfer speed. The operator's top speed level for most users reached 65.56 Mbps, which is almost 10% higher than its nearest competitor.
This is confirmed by a Vigo study conducted on the Russian Merilo platform.
To determine leadership, analysts used the integral indicator Vigo Speed Score, built on the basis of customer experience during data transfer and overall network performance, including download and upload speed. According to experts, MegaFon scored 78.45 points, which allowed the operator to become the leader in speed.
In total, almost 90 thousand measurements were taken on the Merilo platform in the first quarter of 2026 on 11 thousand devices in the networks of all mobile operators. MegaFon's download speed according to the 90th percentile, which characterizes the upper level of speeds for most users, reached 65.56 Mbit/s.
“High speed mobile Internet has long become a necessity for millions of our subscribers. We continue to develop the network not only through the construction of new base stations, but also by modernizing the infrastructure as a whole. Engineers are expanding trunk communication lines, updating the core network and introducing modern domestic solutions, thereby increasing the quality of services,” said MegaFon technical director Alexey Titov.
