SGK introduced schoolchildren and students to a career in the energy sector at a large-scale forum in Krasnoyarsk

The regional stage of the professional skills championship “Professionals” took place in Krasnoyarsk. Participants were able to evaluate the career prospects that secondary vocational education in the energy sector opens up.

The event took place within the framework of the federal project “Professionalism” of the national project “Youth and Children”, in which the Siberian Generating Company (SGC) has been actively participating for several years. On February 25 and 26, over 1,000 schoolchildren and college students visited interactive exhibitions and shows of professions in key sectors of the regional economy at the Siberia International Exhibition Center. The children got acquainted with promising areas of secondary vocational education and communicated with future employers from the fields of energy, metallurgy, transport and other industries.

SGK specialists told students about the problems that energy enterprises are solving today and about the modern equipment they use. A separate topic was the discussion of the company’s environmental projects and its social initiatives in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Master classes and games organized by members of the Youth Council of the Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1 helped the guests feel like real power engineers. For school graduates, there was a platform with detailed information about career development programs and leading energy professions, organized by the Nazarovsky Energy Construction College, SUEK-Krasnoyarsk, Yenisei TGC-13 and other participants.

The high level of knowledge of power engineering students was also confirmed by competitions within the “Professionals” championship. NEST student Roman Arefiev won a gold medal in the “Intelligent Electricity Metering Systems” competency. Mikhail Mariysky became the silver medalist in the “Welding Technologies” competency.

“Training personnel for the energy sector is one of the priority areas of our company’s work. Since 2022, we have been participating in the federal project “Professionalism”. The project allows employer companies, together with government authorities, to improve the material base of secondary vocational education institutions, and to make the training itself as practice-oriented as possible. Students undergo practical training at our enterprises, and our specialists, together with college teachers, participate in the preparation of training programs,” said Tatyana Ponomareva, HR Director of the Yenisei TGC (a division of the SGC in the Yenisei Siberia region).

It should be noted that within the framework of the federal project “Professionalism”, SGK and the Melnichenko Foundation, together with the Ministry of Education of the region, on the basis of the Nazarovo Energy Construction College, the Krasnoyarsk College of Welding Technologies and Energy and the Minusinsk Agricultural College, launched an educational cluster of the fuel and energy complex. The company, together with the administrations of educational institutions, equips laboratories and classrooms. In Minusinsk on the basis of the local history museum named after. Martyanov opened an interactive exhibition “I work at a thermal power plant” – a new and noticeable platform for career guidance for young people in the city.
