Grindeanu, in turn, accuses Bolojan of “lies”: “We are changing him, not Nicușor Dan” / Arrow to the senator who resigned from the PSD

PSD President Sorin Grindeanu accused Liberal Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan of telling several “lies” after the PSD-AUR motion was announced, including when he suggested “that PSD and I form majorities to suspend President Nicușor Dan”.
In an intervention on Tuesday evening on Romania TV, Sorin Grindeanu commented on the statements made by Ilie Bolojan the previous evening on Digi24, where the liberal prime minister accused him of “lying” and said that, in the future, President Nicușor Dan also risks being targeted by PSD's “actions”.
Now, the PSD leader has in turn accused the PNL leader of telling “lies”.
“We made this motion to change him, not the president Nicușor Dan. This is to be very clear and not to try to throw out false scenarios, which have no connection, but I realized that, in fact, this is the score of the PNL, because I've seen others saying this all day. It's a lie, it's an untruth. It's not about something like that. If we want to change something, we want to change the prime minister, in no case the president”, declared Sorin Grindeanu.
Sorin Grindeanu also commented on the Prime Minister's statement regarding how the PSD related to the AUR in the discussions with European officials, in which the social democrats, according to the liberal, “demonized” the party led by George Simion.
In response, the PSD leader recalled the message of support received today from the European social democrats.
“I am in Paris, on an official visit, tomorrow I have a meeting with the president of the National Assembly. I am extremely “isolated”, as Mr. Bolojan says. Let him see if he can, at the Government, for a few days, on his lordship's business and stop throwing small things in the public space”, Sorin Grindeanu continued.
Grindeanu, about the collaboration with AUR: “There are no post-motion agreements”
The PSD leader said that between his party and the AUR there is currently “a parliamentary agreement” in the attempt to impeach Prime Minister Bolojan, but no “post-motion agreements”.
“It is a deal that is aimed at removing this government and mainly the Prime Minister. There are no post-motion deals. All the other things said in the public space these days, some of which I have mentioned before, are lies,” he added.
Asked what will happen and who will lead Romania starting on May 6, if the motion of May 5 leads to the dismissal of the Government, Sorin Grindeanu answered: “And today, and Tuesday, and Wednesday, the country is led by the president – and, as we saw in today's statements, we are entering an institutional and constitutional circuit. If the motion passes, we will go to consultations, as the Constitution says.”
Grindeanu, about Victoria Stoiciu: “Maybe she will also resign from the Senate”
The PSD president was also asked about senator Victoria Stoiciu, who announced on Tuesday that she was resigning from the party, comparing the deal made with AUR to “a normalization of fascism”.
“Don't take me on this line, because I am not the author of his lordship's coming to the party, and I will not even speak ill of him. If his lordship has chosen this path, it is her business. Maybe she will also resign from the Senate, because after all she was elected on the PSD lists”, was Sorin Grindeanu's reply, on Tuesday evening, on Romania TV.
PSD and AUR submitted the censure motion against the Bolojan Government on Tuesday.
The document was signed by 254 parliamentarians, and to lead to the dismissal of the Bolojan Government, it will need a majority of at least 233 votes in the plenary session of the Parliament.
PSD, AUR, POT, SOS, PACE and non-affiliates together have 281 votes.
The leadership of the Parliament established that the motion will be read on Wednesday, from 12 o'clock, and will be voted on in secret, with ballots, on Tuesday, May 5, from 11 o'clock.
