Peonies are one of the most elegant plants in the garden. They make the area well-groomed and bright, but in order for the bushes to produce large flowers and not fade for a long time, watering alone is not enough. We need a soft natural fertilizer that works with the root system from the inside.
The secret is to use yeast infusion once every two weeks. This remedy helps the roots better absorb nutrition, and the stems help withstand the heavy caps of inflorescences. Suitable for both young seedlings and adult bushes.
How to cook:
- Mix 2 tablespoons of dry yeast, 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 liter of warm water.
- Leave the solution in a warm place for 2–3 hours, then dilute with 10 liters of clean water.
- Pour the mixture around the tree trunks, being careful not to get it on the root collar.
- The remainder of the infusion can be strained and carefully sprayed onto the foliage from a spray bottle in cloudy weather.
Yeast saturates the soil with beneficial microorganisms and amino acids, and sugar starts the fermentation process. Together they improve the absorption of phosphorus and potassium, strengthen the stems, prolong the dissolution of buds and protect against early wilting.
If you want peonies to last longer than usual and not break from the wind, try this fertilizer. It is suitable not only for them, but also for other perennials: roses, phlox, and sometimes clematis.
