Deputy Prime Minister Oana Gheorghiu claims that PSD was informed about the intention to list some companies on the stock exchange. “He chose not to send us any reaction”

Deputy Prime Minister Oana Gheorghiu makes, on Friday, clarifications regarding “untruths propagated in the public space in the form of “big revelations” about a Government that “sells our country”, referring to accusations of social democrats in this sense. Gheorghiu states that she herself discussed, “informally”, with the Deputy Prime Minister of the PSD, Marian Neacşu, about the possibility of listing some minority stakes in certain state companies, informs News.ro.
“In order to clarify the untruths that some are trying to propagate in the public space in the form of “big revelations” about a Government that is “selling our country”, a few clarifications. About the possibility of listing minority stakes in certain state companies, I myself discussed, informally, with the Deputy Prime Minister of the PSD, Marian Neacşu. Later, all the Deputy Prime Ministers (each representing a party) received the respective document, with the request to communicate their feedback on this subject, if there are companies that should be added or removed from the list”, explains Deputy Prime Minister Oana Gheorghiu in a post on Facebook.
Unlike PNL and USR, PSD chose not to send us any reaction

Gheorghiu specifies that the “natural next” step was to present the list for information in the Government meeting.
“An Exploratory Document”
“We are discussing an exploratory document, without legal implications. Later, we published these materials on the official website of the Government, in the spirit of transparency and good governance. It is not a question of any final and definitive decision on this subject. It is nothing more than the beginning of a conversation”, said the quoted source.
Deputy Prime Minister Oana Gheorghiu adds that, “unlike the way other politicians or ministers are used to us”, she chose to involve in this consultation process “all public actors and even some private ones precisely to identify the best and healthy solution for Romania and for the benefit of Romanians”.
“I am perfectly aware that my activity in the government disturbed many interests and many smart guys. Politically appointed board members, mistresses and nephews, contracts from which some got rich and the only one who lost was the state, meaning all of us. Being used to making decisions behind closed doors, I am convinced that my transparency approach is not in agreement with their interests of combinations”, says Oana Gheorghiu.
PSD accusations
Last week, the president of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, announced that the social democrats oppose the sale of profitable state companies and stated that he asked Daniel Zamfir, the leader of the PSD senators, to submit, on Monday, in the Parliament, a bill by which the sale of shares in profitable state companies would be prohibited for two years.
On Monday, Daniel Zamfir announced that he submitted, in an emergency procedure, the project that prohibits the sale of state assets to strategic companies of national interest until December 31, 2027, because it would not be a suitable time for such an approach in the current “difficult” geopolitical context.
At the time, Oana Gheorghiu responded to PSD's accusations against Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan that he was “selling our country” and explained that the reason why it “disturbing” the listing of some state companies on the stock exchange is that a listed company “can no longer be controlled at discretion” and becomes “much more difficult to use as a political tool”.
“This is, in fact, the stake. Not “selling the country”, but the loss of non-transparent control over some state resources, used to feed the thirst of the smart guys sent from the party”, affirmed Gheorghiu, noting that the most important lists in Romania were made “even by those who challenge them today”.
