Former F1 driver and current TV pundit Martin Brundle has commented on the 'Grand Circus' title battle and believes McLaren have a major advantage over Max Verstappen
After the summer break, Max significantly reduced the lead of the leader Oscar Piastri: from 104 points, the Australian's advantage shrunk to 40, and until the end of the season there are still five stages, in which there will also be two sprint races. The McLaren drivers are winless in the last 4 rounds, but Brundle expects the upcoming circuits to be suitable for the car of Piastri and Lando Norris.
Martin Brundle, verdict on the title fight in Formula 1: “McLaren's advantage is that they fight two against one”

“In the last five races, Verstappen has won 119 points out of a possible 133. At this rate, Max will win the title, but at some of the future circuits we will return to the usual strong performance of McLaren. But there is no doubt that Red Bull currently has a better car and Max is in top form,” Brundle said, according to sportal.bg.
According to Brundle, however, the battle will be decided by the fact that both McLaren drivers are regularly at the front, while Max struggles alone, as his team-mate Yuki Tsunoda is usually much further back in the standings.
“McLaren's advantage is that they fight two against one. McLaren will have to play this asset very well in every race from now until the end of the season in Abu Dhabi. Max does not approve of sprint races, but these weekends suit his talent and confidence perfectly and the series of sessions after the one free practice session has a cumulative effect. For others it is like falling behind in a peloton of riders, then it's hard to get back on top,” Brundle said, according to the quoted source.
