Torrential rains and thunderstorms: ANM alert in several regions until Saturday evening

The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) announces severe atmospheric instability, on Saturday, in several regions of the country, where torrential rains and electrical discharges will be recorded. In addition, the wind will blow strongly.

Until Saturday, at 20:00, in the center, south and east of the territory, the atmospheric instability will be temporarily accentuated and there will be periods of showers, accompanied in limited areas by electrical discharges, meteorologists report.

The rains will also have a torrential character, so in short time intervals, local amounts of water of 15…20 l/m2 will accumulate and in small areas more than 25 l/m2.

Isolated hail will fall in the southern regions, according to ANM.

Saturday, in the east, southeast, in the mountains and locally in the rest. There will be speeds in general of 45…55 km/h, and in the high mountain area the gusts will be 60…80 km/h.
