Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic was admitted to a military hospital in Belgrade after returning from the United States on Saturday and is in a “stable” condition, according to a medical source quoted by France Presse, Agerpres reports.
Aleksandar Vucic, 55, “was admitted to the Military Medical Academy immediately after landing” in Belgrade, his office said in a statement sent.
A few hours after the hospitalization of President Vucic, cardiologist Dragan Decic told the press that his health is “stable and satisfying”, which allowed him to leave the institution during the day.
According to the cardiologist, Vucic felt “intense chest pain”, and American doctors have subsequently observed “high” blood pressure.
“The American doctors performed all the necessary exams, and the president, contrary to their recommendation, decided to return to the country,” he said.
Meeting with Trump, canceled
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic decided to interrupt his trip to the United States, where he was to meet with his American counterpart Donald Trump, and return to Serbia “following a bad condition,” several press institutions accompanied the head of the Serbian state, notes AFP.
