Britain allows the United States to use British military bases in operations against Iran in the Strait of Hormuz

Britain on Friday approved the use of its bases by the US to launch attacks on Iranian targets in the Strait of Hormuz area, according to the BBC.
Downing Street had previously allowed US forces to use British bases for operations aimed at preventing Iran from launching missiles that could endanger British interests or lives.
But at a meeting today, ministers agreed that the use of British bases by the US should be extended to protect ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
The UK will not be directly involved in these strikes and Downing Street maintains that “the principles underpinning the UK's approach to the conflict remain the same”.
A Downing Street spokesman said ministers had agreed the bases could be used for “US defensive operations”, targeting “capabilities used to attack ships in the Strait of Hormuz”.
It added that “the ministers stressed the need for an urgent de-escalation and a quick resolution of the war”.
Trump, violent attack on NATO
Earlier on Friday, Trump criticized NATO allies for their lack of support in the war waged by the US and Israel against Iran.
The US president complained that NATO countries did not want to join the fight against Iran, but still complain about high oil prices.
“Without the US, NATO is a paper tiger!” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
“Now that the battle has been won militarily, with very little danger to them, they complain about the high oil prices they are forced to pay, but they don't want to help open the Strait of Hormuz, a simple military maneuver that is the only reason for the high oil prices. It is so easy for them to do it, with so little risk,” he wrote.
“LEAVE, and we will REMEMBER!” Trump added, using capital letters as usual to emphasize some words.
