The cultural and historical event “It was the spring of forty-one,” dedicated to the work of front-line artist Boris Ryauzov, took place at the Krasnoyarsk railway station.

It was no coincidence that the station was chosen as the venue for the event: 85 years ago, in April 1941, Boris Ryauzov first got off the train on Krasnoyarsk soil.

Passengers and visitors could get acquainted with the unique traveling exhibition “Front-line drawings of Boris Ryauzov”, which included sketches and sketches created by the artist during the Great Patriotic War: “On the Roads of War”, “The Feat of Captain Gastello”, “Alexander Sailors”, etc.

The central event of the event was the theatrical and musical hour. Actors from the Artefact Theater of Historical Reconstruction presented a literary program recreating the mood of the pre-war spring of 1941, and the Krasny Yar folk song ensemble performed compositions from the war years.

For passengers and guests of Krasnoyarsk, the cultural and historical event at the railway station was an opportunity to touch history through art and feel the connection of times.

It should be noted that the passenger complexes of the Krasnaya Railway regularly become venues for festivals, exhibitions and historical and educational projects in the region, continuing the tradition established in the 19th century, when the stations were the centers of cultural life of Russian cities.

Boris Yakovlevich Ryauzov is a Soviet and Russian landscape artist, People's Artist of the RSFSR. In April 1941, he moved to Krasnoyarsk, where he began working at the Artist Association. From 1942 to 1945 he fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. After the war he returned to the city on the Yenisei, with which his entire future life was connected.

He was at the origins of the creation of an art school, a regional branch of the Academy of Arts, and an art institute in Krasnoyarsk.

The works of Boris Ryauzov are presented in the Russian Museum, the Tretyakov Gallery and 64 other museums in Russia and the former Soviet republics.
