Fuel prices after Christmas. Analysts have new forecasts

Particularly visible is the increase in the price of diesel oil, which has gone up significantly in refineries compared to last week.

The average price of diesel reached PLN 6,987.80 per cubic meter, which means an increase of PLN 118 week to week. In the case of 95 petrol, the situation is different – its average price is currently PLN 5,449.80 per cubic meter. and is lower than the week before, among others thanks to reduced excise tax as part of the government package.
Fuel price forecasts: diesel significantly more expensive
Experts predict that rising wholesale prices will translate into higher maximum fuel prices at stations, announced daily by the Ministry of Energy.
Forecasts show that drivers may see the following rates by the middle of next week:
- 95 petrol in the range of PLN 6.18–6.27 per liter
- diesel oil at PLN 7.85–7.97 per liter
- autogas within the range of PLN 3.68–3.79 per liter
That's it Diesel is expected to be the fuel that will experience the greatest upward pressure.
Prices at gas stations are still lower than a week ago. The future is in doubt
Despite rising wholesale prices current average retail fuel prices remain lower than a week ago. Market monitoring shows that on Wednesday, EU95 petrol cost on average PLN 6.16 per liter, i.e. PLN 0.98 less than a week earlier.
An even greater drop concerned diesel oil – its price was PLN 7.54 per liter and was lower by PLN 1.15. However, the prices of autogas went in the opposite direction and – as a fuel not covered by the government's maximum price mechanism – the price increased by 0.05 PLN, reaching an average of PLN 3.69 per liter.
