US President Donald Trump will not allow anyone to oppose his defense of American interests – emphasized US Ambassador to Poland Thomas Rose on Wednesday. He also complained about the lack of support for the US from some allies.

“Funny how when our allies call, we always answer, but when the tables are turned? Not so much! Those who now justify their refusal to support the president of the United States or America in our defense of them and the world on the grounds that we did not 'consult' them first are the very reason we didn't – if we had been stupid enough to 'consult' them, they would have stopped us from acting,” Rose wrote.

“Donald Trump will never allow anyone to oppose his defense of American interests,” he said.

He emphasized that the US helped when Britain “desperately” needed American support to retake the Falkland Islands using missiles, intelligence and logistics, and provided intelligence support and technical assistance for many other operations and interventions conducted by other European countries, including France.

“When they call, we answer. When we act, we are reprimanded. But for how much longer?” – wrote Rose.

US President Donald Trump said in an interview with Reuters on Wednesday that he would say during his evening address to the nation that he was considering withdrawing the United States from NATO. The speech is scheduled for 21 local time, i.e. at 3 a.m. on Thursday in Poland.

In an interview with Reuters, Trump also announced that the United States would “leave Iran quite quickly” but could return if necessary to conduct “point attacks.” He did not provide a date for the completion of the operation. – They will not have nuclear weapons because they are not capable of it now, and I will leave and take everyone with me, and if necessary, we will come back and conduct point attacks – he added.

Trump announced that in his speech he would inform that he was considering withdrawing the US from NATO and would express his “disgust” with the Alliance. When asked whether he was considering withdrawing the US from NATO, he replied: – Definitely, without a doubt. Wouldn't you do it if you were me? – When we needed them, they did not turn out to be friends – complained the president. – We have never asked them for much (…) it works in one direction – he continued.

Trump also talked about NATO in an interview with the British daily The Telegraph published on Wednesday. He noted that he was seriously considering withdrawing the United States from the Alliance, which he called a “paper tiger.” This is the strongest signal yet from the US administration that it no longer considers Europe a reliable defense partner after European NATO countries refused to allow Trump to send ships to the Middle East to unblock the Strait of Hormuz, the newspaper commented.
