Orban's victory is important for Europe

— A win for Fidesz and Viktor Orban would be very important for Hungary, but also for Europe. It would be part of the cycle of events predicted by some, a great change, with our return to power in Poland and the victory of the right wing in France – said the former Polish Prime Minister

— A force could emerge that would change Europe. This is necessary because the European Union is experiencing a crisis that may lead to its collapse. We do not wish this, but we want an EU that will be a mechanism for coordinating the policies of sovereign countries – noted the PiS president.

Kaczyński: TISZA may lead to the collapse of the rule of law in Hungary

In his opinion, the opposition TISZA and its leader Peter Magyar, if they win, could follow in Donald Tusk's footsteps and “lead to the collapse of the rule of law” in Hungary.

The politician said that more and more decisions are made in Brussels or Berlin, and he accused Ursula von der Leyen and Manfred Weber – president of the European Commission and leader of the European People's Party – of implementing “new German imperialism”.

During the conversation, Kaczyński repeatedly criticized Prime Minister Tusk's government, accusing it of “dismantling the rule of law” and causing the financial crisis in Poland. — We left the country (after losing power in 2023 – PAP) in good condition, and now the public debt is growing and the prospects are bad. This government cannot govern, said the PiS president. He added that the current government serves “not Polish, but German interests.”

The former prime minister noted that his party had gone on the offensive, the results of which, in his opinion, were already visible.

Elections in Hungary. Orban was visited by Karol Nawrocki, Tusk talked to Magyar

Parliamentary elections in Hungary will be held on April 12. The opposition TISHA party is ahead of Prime Minister Orban's Fidesz in most independent polls. In a March survey by Median, this party gained a 23-point advantage among decisive voters. Polls from centers linked to the government indicate that Fidesz has an advantage of several percent.

Last Monday, the President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, visited Budapest and met, among others, with Prime Minister Orban. The head of the Hungarian government enjoys the support of US President Donald Trump. The opposition leader, in turn, assured after the February meeting with Prime Minister Tusk that if his party wins, they will immediately rebuild “Hungarian-Polish political, economic and cultural relations with Warsaw and give a new impetus to the cooperation of the Visegrad Group.”
