It was added that several soldiers suffered minor injuries from shrapnel and concussion. They are in the process of returning to service, CENTCOM noted.
“The main combat operations are continuing and rescue operations are underway,” the command emphasized.
“The situation is dynamic, so out of respect for the families, we will refrain from publishing additional information, including the identity of the fallen soldiers, until 24 hours after notifying their next of kin,” it was announced.
The day before, CENCTOM reported that no American soldiers died during the operation.
