
In particular, it is known about the explosions of four ATMs at the beginning of the week, as well as several on the night of March 27.
In Lopik (Utrecht province), unknown persons blew up an ATM on Anna van Buurenstraat Street. Due to a strong explosion, residents of the upper floors of the house had to be evacuated. As a result of the incident, a teenage girl was injured – she was wounded by broken glass; she is now in the hospital.
As a result of the explosion of an ATM in Amsterdam, the windows of the upper apartments were broken, there was significant material damage, but information about the stolen money has not yet been received.
Representatives of the Geldmaat company reported that their sealbag ATMs have a different security system than conventional ones, where they use GlueFusion technology – it instantly glues money together when it explodes, making it unusable.
The company added that it was taking measures to prevent new explosions: some devices were temporarily closed, and operating hours were limited for others.
