US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that taking control of Iran's oil, as happened in Venezuela, is one of the options he is considering. He also revealed that Iran, as a “gift”, allowed ten tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

– That's a possibility. I don't want to talk about it, but it's a possibility, Trump said, answering a journalist's question whether he planned to take control of Iran's oil.

The president stated that This model of cooperation works well in Venezuela, where part of the revenues from the export of raw materials is received by the USA and part by Venezuela, thanks to which the country achieves record revenues.

Speaking during a meeting of his cabinet at the White House, Trump also revealed what the “gift” from Iran he referred to on Tuesday was. Iran's gift was to allow a total of ten tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. As he stated, these were supposed to be ships flying the flag of Pakistan, which mediates in negotiations with Iran.

Trump emphasized that Iran wanted to end the war because “it's getting screwed…”. He also stated that he was not desperate, but “on the contrary”: he still had a list of targets to destroy.

Regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump admitted that although Iran's armed forces had been “decimated,” even the destruction of 99 percent Iran's capabilities do not guarantee safety, because it still means that Iran could sink ships with a missile. He admitted that there may be mines in the strait, but he does not know whether this is actually the case.

– But I have a feeling this will clear up quickly, Trump said.

The US and Israel's war with Iran has been going on since February 28.
