Tanczos Barna, about a possible exit of the UDMR from the government. “When we say we're out, the next day we're out. Period”

UDMR does not intend to leave the current governing coalition, Tanczos Barna said on Digi24 on Tuesday. The deputy prime minister emphasized that his party remains committed to maintaining political stability, in the context of international tensions.
Tanczos Barna rejected speculations about a possible withdrawal from the party, stressing that such decisions are not announced months in advance.
“When we say we are leaving, the next day we left. Period. (…) We are not in such a situation”Barna stated, recalling that UDMR has left coalitions in the past, either on its own initiative or due to political pressure.
“UDMR seeks compromise, seeks dialogue with partners”
According to the deputy prime minister, the party is currently looking for compromise solutions within the coalition. He gave the example of the budget negotiations, where UDMR would have contributed to finding a formula accepted by all parties. “Today UDMR is looking for compromise, looking for dialogue with partnersBarna said.
The Deputy Prime Minister warned that the international situation requires responsibility and the avoidance of any internal political crises. “It's the last thing Romania needs at the moment – a political dispute and an internal political crisis”, he pointed out, adding that the formation considers it necessary to maintain stability until “pass this international madness”.
About Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan and the possible change at the top of the Government
Asked about the discussions regarding the situation of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, Tanczos Barna reiterated the position of the UDMR: the decision belongs exclusively to the PNL.
“The only party that can make a decision on the person of the prime minister until the election is the PNL”, said Barna, specifying that, in the absence of such a decision, the Executive must continue its activity according to the established calendar.

“No party has made any decision”
Regarding the possibility of AUR submitting a censure motion, Tánczos Barna qualified the discussion as premature. “Absolutely premature to discuss such a thing. No party has made any decision”he said.
Asked if such a motion could pass, the deputy prime minister avoided making predictions: “I don't usually bet. (…) It would be a frivolous bet.”“.
The deputy prime minister also said that Romania does not need a new political crisis and that it is preferable for tensions to calm down after the Easter holidays.
