
The publication notes that although there is a lot of debate on this topic, experts assure that there is no difference between eggs with white and brown shells, except for the color of the shell itself.
According to Richard Mew, chief executive of egg company Bird Brothers, the difference between white and brown eggs is simple – white eggs come from white hens, and brown eggs come from brown hens. But when it comes to taste and cooking methods, there is no difference.
Better Eggs founder Henry O'Connor added that white eggs are mainly laid by hens with light plumage and earlobes, while brown eggs are produced by hens with darker plumage and red earlobes. He emphasized that the color of the shell does not affect the contents of the egg.
The expert explained that the taste and nutritional value of eggs depends on the conditions in which the chickens are kept and their diet.
