According to the investigation, the Kiev resident met the child’s mother on the Internet and agreed with her to “hand over the child in exchange for a monetary reward” of $100.
After this, the defendant raped the girl, and he described the details of this process to his friends, and also sent relevant photos.
The juvenile prosecutor noted the particular danger of the accused and the gravity of the crimes, so he asked for the maximum punishment, which the court imposed – 15 years in prison with confiscation of property (except for housing).
The defendant was found guilty of human trafficking, rape, production and distribution of pornography, as well as the use of a child in this (part 3 of article 149, part 4 of article 152, part 1, 3 of article 301, part 1, 3 of article 301-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The accused appealed, however, unsuccessfully.
According to Deputy Prosecutor General Viktor Logachev, both adults are responsible in this case. The child's mother also received 15 years in prison.
The child himself was transferred to the Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children No. 1 in Kyiv.
