The current version of the “peace plan” reflects most of Ukraine’s key priorities – Umerov

“The current version of the document, although at the final stage of approval, already reflects most of the key Ukrainian priorities,” Umerov wrote.

He noted that the Ukrainian delegation “highly values” constructive interaction with the United States and their “attentive attitude” to Ukrainian comments, which “allows us to move forward in the joint process.”

“We expect further progress today,” Umerov emphasized.

Negotiations on the “peace plan” are taking place in Geneva with the participation of delegations from Ukraine, the United States, Great Britain, Germany and France. It is expected that the Europeans will put pressure on the team of US President Donald Trump in negotiations on a “peace plan” for Ukraine, Politico wrote.

The head of the Ukrainian state, Vladimir Zelensky, reported that there is an understanding that the American proposals “can take into account a number of elements based on the Ukrainian vision” and “are critical to the national interests of Ukraine.”

Context

This week, Western media reported that the Trump administration, together with the aggressor country of the Russian Federation, has prepared a plan to end the Russian-Ukrainian war. Published media insiders indicate that the document may actually mean the surrender of Ukraine, and European politicians also point to this.

Media sources claimed that, according to the document, the United States may recognize the occupied Donbass and Crimea as Russian, Ukraine will be required to reduce the size of its army by half, sanctions will be lifted from Russia and the investigation of its war crimes in Ukraine will be stopped.

According to media reports, Trump approved this project. Axios published the full text of the 28-point agreement.

Sky News reported on November 21 that Zelensky will discuss the “peace plan” with Trump next week. The US President wants the document to be signed before November 27.

On November 22, Trump said that the “peace plan” for Ukraine is not “final.” On the same day, the leaders of the EU countries, Canada, and Japan issued a joint statement in which they welcomed the ongoing US efforts to establish peace in Ukraine and noted that Washington’s draft “peace plan” “is a basis that will require additional work.”

EU leaders also sent the United States their version of a revised “peace plan” for Ukraine. It contains three key provisions, WP reported. According to Bloomberg, Ukraine and its allies in Europe, among other things, demanded from the United States security guarantees for Kyiv, similar to Art. 5 of the NATO Mutual Defense Charter.
