– We should try to find a way out of this. “It's a good time to declare victory and get out,” Sacks said on the All-In podcast.

The newspaper noted that Sacks' statement is a rare example of a voice of opposition in the administration. The official acknowledged that the Strait of Hormuz must be unblocked, but warned against calls for escalation, including sending ground forces to the region or regime change.

He alerted that The escalation of the conflict may lead to widespread destruction of oil and gas infrastructure in the Middle East, which is being attacked by the Iranians in retaliation.

He also warned that the destruction of desalination plants could make Gulf countries “almost uninhabitable.” – This would be a truly disastrous scenario – added Elon Musk's former partner.

More than 400 desalination plants located on the coasts of countries in the Persian Gulf region, from the United Arab Emirates to Kuwait, enable the operation and development of one of the most water-stressed areas in the world.
