Canada announces that it will maintain sanctions on oil from Russia. “We'll still do it”


— Canada will maintain sanctions on Russian oil, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney assured on Friday during his visit to Norway, referring to the American decision to exempt Russian oil from existing sanctions. The meeting was also attended by the Prime Minister of Norway, Jonas Gahr Stoere and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. “All three of us have defended sanctions against Russian oil and will continue to do so,” Carney said at a joint news conference, Radio-Canada reported.
