Denmark will release one fifth of its oil reserves

Denmark will release 124,600 in the next three months. barrels of crude oil from strategic reserves, which constitutes one fifth of national reserves, said the Minister of Climate, Energy and Resources Lars Aagaard on Friday.


The amount of raw material released to the market is intended to put pressure on rising fuel prices and, according to Aagaard, it is not related to shortages of raw material. – The supply situation in Denmark and Europe is currently stable – assured Aagaard during the press conference.
The decision of the government in Copenhagen is the result of an earlier agreement among the members of the International Energy Agency (IEA), to which Denmark belongs, for the members of the organization to release a total of 400 million barrels from national storage facilities.

Aagaard expects the United States, Australia and Canada to release their oil reserves soon.
