A ballet about the world of visions and emotions of Alexander Pushkin will be shown in Krasnoyarsk.
Director of the Dmitry Hvorostovsky Opera and Ballet Theater Svetlana Guziy reminded that Krasnoyarsk residents will be shown the work of choreographer Nikita Dmitrievsky, who acts as the author of the libretto, choreographer, set designer, as well as costume and lighting designer. Music composed by Konstantin Borisov.
“Our public knows his “Dante’s Catharsis” – a work that became a real discovery and received warm recognition far beyond the borders of Krasnoyarsk, gathering full houses in Moscow and Vladivostok. Nikita again took on a large-scale personality, and this time his hero is Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin. For us, this production is an important step in promoting the great Russian culture. We sincerely believe that “Pushkin” in Dmitrievsky’s reading will become that fresh note that will not only enrich the theater’s repertoire, but will also find a lively response from a young, thinking viewer,” noted Svetlana Guziy.
The author himself explained that for him the poet is a man of mystery, and he tried to create a kind of parallel universe where Pushkin exists.
“The result is a two-act performance with a dense internal plot, a quick change of bright pictures, constantly transforming machinery on stage, a rich light and musical score,” said Nikita Dmitrievsky.
In terms of choreography, the production combines styles from neoclassical to postmodern. The musical atmosphere of a live orchestra will be complemented by specially synthesized sounds.
