How long does Romania have fuel reserves? “In the worst case scenario, we are still better than other EU states”

The Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, stated on Antena 3 that, if Romania stopped importing and producing no more liters of fuel in the next period, there are stocks of fuel that would last for the next five months. These come from commercial and emergency stocks.
Bogdan Ivan was asked, Wednesday evening, on Antena 3, if there is a possibility that the fuel price will reach 10 lei in Romania.
“There are so many variables that, if you ask any Minister of Energy five years ago whether the price of fuel will reach 8 lei… To be very explicit: under certain conditions, in a certain period of time, it is obvious that in a year, two, three, five, ten, you have no way of knowing these things. What the Ministry of Energy and Romania did five days ago, namely different routes, contract extensions, I called all the contacts that I have from Singapore to the United States of America, plus an extraordinary job done by the Competition Council, ANPC, ANAF and all the companies in the oil industry, we achieved the lowest price increase in the entire European Union”, said Bogdan Ivan, quoted by News.ro.
The minister explained that “the complicated situation is all over the world”.
“If we speak calmly, calmly and show all these figures, Romanians can see, for example, that only from the commercial and emergency stocks, if we did not produce one more liter of diesel fuel or if we did not bring one more liter of diesel fuel and gasoline to Romania, what we have now would last almost five months. We have emergency stocks for three months, commercial stocks for approximately two more months, if, hypothetically, we do not produce anything. So in the worst case scenario, we are still better than many other countries in the European Union. Furthermore, at the moment we have imports of crude oil and diesel on diversified routes”, added Ivan.
The minister recalled that there were other moments when it was speculated that the fuel price would reach 10 lei, and this did not happen, following the intervention of the authorities.
