The representative of Iraq at the United Nations said that 50 Israeli fighter jets violated the Iraqi airspace shortly before a UN meeting between Israel and Iran, reports Reuters, taken over by News.ro.

Abbas Kadhom Obaid al-Fatlawi, in charge of the UN Iraq's mission, told the UN Security Council that the aircraft came from the border area between Syria and Jordan.

“Twenty aircraft took off, followed by another 30, which turned to the south of Iraq and overcome the cities of Basra, Najaf and Karbala,” he said.

“These violations are non -observations of international law and UN Charter,” he said, adding: “They also represent a threat to sacred places and regions, which could cause strong folk reactions, given the importance of these holy places for our peoples.”

On Friday morning, on the eighth day of the war, the Israeli army announced that it has been bombarding dozens of targets in Tehran overnight, including the “Iran's research and development center.”

Also on Friday morning, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that “there is no place for negotiations” as long as Israel continues to hit Iran, given that Europeans are trying to bring Tehran to the discussion table and Donald Trump has announced a two -week term in which he will decide if the United States will intervene.
