The closure of the airspace in several countries in the Middle East, after the attack by Israel and the USA on Iran, affected only today 12 flights from Romania, with approximately 1,500 passengers, announced Teo Postelnicu, spokesperson of the Bucharest National Airport Company (CNAB).

“Around 1,500 are affected today only, in the coming days we will see. We already have cancellations scheduled, there will certainly be more. We ask passengers to contact the airlines if they have flights to Abu Dhabi, Dubai or Tel Aviv for last-minute information and updates,” announced Teo Postelnicu, in a press statement at Otopeni Airport.

At the same time, the CNAB representative specified what solutions the affected people have:

“There are options that airlines make available: refunds, hotels, etc. So far there have been no incidents at the airport, we hope people understand the situation. So far, everything is under control,” said Postelnicu.

“People should understand that the situation is untimely and the cancellation of flights is for their safety. The commanders who decided this did it for the safety of people and aircraft,” Teo Postelnicu emphasized.

Which flights are affected

So far, TAROM, Animawings, El Al and Hisky airlines have announced the suspension of scheduled flights to Tel Aviv in the coming days while Wizz Air has decided to suspend all flights to and from Israel, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Amman.

Another plane, Hisky 8671, with 173 passengers, which had left in the morning, at 08.30 for Dubai, landed in Riyadh, but is returning to Otopeni.
