Grindeanu spoke about “the direction PSD will go”, after the last meeting of the party before the vote by which he wants to remove Bolojan

The PSD ended today the series of eight regional meetings, organized before the meeting on April 20, when the social democrats will vote whether to continue governing with Ilie Bolojan.
“At this moment, it is as clear as possible that there is a direction in which the PSD will go, and it is obvious that, as we are now, in the situation we are in, things cannot continue,” said Sorin Grindeanu, in a press conference held in Timișoara, where the last PSD regional meeting took place.
He also said that he presented “all the possible scenarios that can follow after the vote that the PSD will give”.
“This presentation was detailed, so that all those who will vote vote in an informed manner, in a rational way, in a lucid and not emotional way. It is a period when there is a lot of emotion in politics. This is not what our vote on Monday is about,” added the PSD president.
In the last few days, Sorin Grindeanu has intensified his attacks on Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, in preparation for Monday's vote. “You became prime minister with PSD votes. Almost half. You wouldn't become prime minister only if you were the PNL president who got 14%. And then it's decent to take into account everyone in this coalition. Which didn't happen.”
PSD is counting down to the vote
On Monday, April 20, from 5:00 p.m., approximately 5,000 PSD members will gather in a meeting to vote whether they still support Bolojan as the head of the Government. “The moment of truth” is the name given by PSD to the event, according to several messages posted by party leaders on social networks.
PSD leaders expect the vote to be overwhelmingly in favor of withdrawing Bolojan's support.
If, after the withdrawal of political support, the prime minister does not resign by the Government meeting that usually takes place on Thursday, one of the main scenarios considered by the social democrats is the withdrawal of the ministers from the Government.
Bolojan: “We would like a puppet-type prime minister”
On the other hand, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced that he will not resign regardless of the outcome of the PSD vote.
“Probably, one would like to have a puppet-type prime minister, so that some are in charge, others pull the strings behind their backs. I assume responsibility. Consider that this looming crisis is like when you start to discover your house in the fall without having tiles and wood to restore the roof”, said Ilie Bolojan, on Friday, in an interview with RRA.
After consulting the PSD, the PNL will meet in a meeting to determine the next steps. Almost a month before the PSD vote, both PNL and USR decided that if the PSD will create a government crisis by overthrowing the current Government, then the parties will no longer negotiate a future government with the Social Democrats.
