The General Council of the Municipality of Bucharest decides on Friday if the liberal deputy mayor Stelian Bujduveanu will take over the duties of mayor of the Capital, after Nicușor Dan will resign. The extraordinary meeting, scheduled to start at 10 o'clock, was convened by the president elected.
Deputy Mayor Stelian Bujduveanu (PNL) could become an interim mayor of the Capital, according to a draft decision to be debated in the Friday meeting of the General Council of Bucharest, writes Agerpres.
The extraordinary meeting was convened by the general mayor, Nicuşor Dan, winner of the presidential elections.
On the agenda there is a single draft decision, based on which Deputy Mayor Stelian Bujduveanu will exercise the first quality of law of the general mayor of Bucharest.
Who will be the interim mayor of Bucharest
At this moment, Stelian Bujduveanu (PNL) and Adrian Vigheciu (PSD) are deputy mayors of the Capital, but the social democratic deputy mayor is the one who exercises the right as a law replacement of the General mayor, according to a decision taken at the beginning of the General Council.
The interim president of the USR, Dominic Fritz, said on Tuesday that a right -wing majority would be “numerically possible” in the General Council of the Capital, a construction of PNL, USR, PMP, the force of the right, but also other small parties.
Dominic Fritz mentioned that the current majority in CGMB is made up of PSD, PNL and gold.
He also stated that USR Bucharest wears discussions for rebuilding the “trusting relationship” with PNL at the capital level.
“It is not about conditions, it is about discussions that are also held by Vlad Voiculescu, the president of USR Bucharest, but also about others about how we can rebuild a confidence relationship between PNL and USR at Bucharest level, but also at the country level,” said Dominic Fritz.
Conditions placed by the landmark
Also, the general counselor Reper Cătălin Teriţă announced on Facebook that he had a discussion with Stelian Bujduveanu about the conditions under which he will hold his interim.
Specifically, the Reper group wants the interim mandate to not be issued authorizations for tall buildings in the center of the capital or for major real estate developments “in areas with poor infrastructure that can congest” traffic.
Another condition is the promotion of the general urban plan and not of some zonal urban plans that “solve” situations of the type mentioned.
“I had two days ago a telephone discussion with Mr. Bujduveanu and he assured me that he would publicly assume these two points. If this will happen, he will have our 4 votes and all the availability to collaborate on urban issues (as well as from the other fields),” wrote Cătălin Tărini.
“It will face the budget restrictions that the PSD government”
On Monday, the president chosen, Nicuşor Dan, noted, in an interview for B1TV, that the interim mayor will have to “face” the budgetary restrictions that the PSD government imposed on the Capital City Hall at the beginning of the year.
“Now, as soon as I install in Cotroceni, one of the deputy mayors will become an interim mayor and it will take care of it. It is by the PSD and interesting is that it will face the budgetary restrictions that the PSD government has imposed for the City Hall,” said Nicuşor Dan.
