Prepare Ukrainian tea donuts that simply melt in your mouth. Recipe without yeast and long kneading

Ukrainian culinary YouTube blogger Tatyana Yarovaya explained step by step how to use simple ingredients without much kneading to prepare the pearl of Ukrainian cuisine – tender and tasty curd donuts with cherries.

“Curd donuts with cherries are a delicate, aromatic and truly homemade dessert that is prepared quickly and easily. They are ideal for breakfast, tea or as a sweet snack for the whole family,” the blogger noted. “The donuts are soft inside, with a crispy crust and juicy filling.”

You don't need yeast to make the dough.

Products

  • 600 g cottage cheese;
  • two eggs;
  • 80 g sugar;
  • 150 g flour;
  • half a teaspoon of baking powder;
  • vanillin;
  • 200 g cherries;
  • 50 g sugar;
  • 10 g starch.

Preparation

  1. Take pureed cottage cheese. If the cottage cheese is very dense and hard to grind, use a blender. The more homogeneous the mass, the better the donuts will turn out. Add sugar and eggs, mix with a spatula or your hands.
  2. Add flour, baking powder and a little vanilla. First mix with a spatula, then knead the dough with your hands.
  3. Knead a homogeneous dough – it should not stick to your hands. If you are using homemade full-fat cottage cheese, you may need a little more flour.
  4. Pinch off a piece of dough and form into a ball weighing approximately 40 g.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil until it completely covers the donuts. If you have a kitchen thermometer, the temperature should be 160°C.
  6. Check the readiness of the oil: lower the skewer – if it is well heated, intense bubbles should appear. You can also drop a small piece of dough – if it actively foams, start frying.
  7. Cook the donuts over low heat. During frying, the donuts will turn over and brown on their own.
  8. Place the finished donuts on a paper towel to remove excess fat and let them cool slightly.
  9. Prepare the cherry filling. To do this, place the cherries in a saucepan. Mix sugar and starch, add to cherries, stir and bring to a boil. Cook for another three minutes. Taste to avoid the taste of starch, then cool.
  10. Make a cross-shaped cut on the donuts and use a pastry bag to fill them with filling.
  11. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
