“The White House envoys, Kushner and Witkoff were disappointed with what they heard from the Iranians during the morning negotiation session – said the source. The evening session continues,” Axios journalist Barak Ravid wrote on X.

The first part of Thursday's negotiations lasted three hours.

Earlier, Axios reported that Thursday's round of talks in Geneva is taking place in two formats: through Oman's Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi and directly between US and Iranian negotiators.

As the website emphasized, the talks in Geneva may be the last chance for a diplomatic solution before President Donald Trump decides to go to war. The message Kushner and Witkoff will convey to Trump after the meeting will have a significant impact on the president's decision, as he reiterates that he prefers a diplomatic solution. At the same time, he repeatedly threatened Iran with an attack if the regime in Tehran did not agree to concessions, including: on nuclear issues.

Oman's Minister of Foreign Affairs: US-Iran talks in Geneva completed, more talks next week

Oman's Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi announced on Thursday that talks between the Iranian and US delegations in Geneva had ended after achieving “significant progress.” He announced further negotiations at the technical level in Vienna next week.

“We ended the day after achieving significant progress in the negotiations between the United States and Iran. We will resume them soon after consultations in the capitals of both countries,” al-Busaidi wrote on Platform X. He announced that talks at the technical level would be held next week in Vienna.

Oman is the mediator of talks between the US and Iran. The headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency is located in Vienna.
