Gambling war: the mayor of another city bans gambling: “We will not build our development on the sorrowful tears of families”

The mayor of Rădăuți, Bogdan Loghin, announced that he has developed a draft resolution requesting the prohibition of all gambling within the city limits. If the project is approved by the City Council, residents will no longer see any slot machines or gambling halls, thus joining similar initiatives already announced in Slatina and Brăila.

“As we promised in the January 22 meeting of the City Council, we have already drafted the draft decision by which we ban gambling. In other words, if this project passes, the residents of Radauta will be happy that they will no longer see any gambling within the municipality. It is a big step, because the pressures are and will be, but we will never build the development of the municipality on the sorrowful tears of families”Mayor Bogdan Loghin sent on his Facebook page.
Radauti, the third city to take this measure
The initiative of the mayor of Rădăuți comes after other municipalities have taken similar decisions in recent weeks:
Slatina was the first city to propose a ban on gambling. Mayor Mario De Mezzo said the health of the community and the protection of families is a priority and that the city will become “free from filth”.
“When the ordinance adopted last night will be published in the official monitor, in the first meeting of the City Council I will propose the removal from the municipality of Slatina of all gambling halls and all brothels. Not a single brothel will operate in the municipality of Slatina”. said the mayor.
Brăila follows suit, with the mayor Marian Dragomir announcing that he will propose banning gambling halls in the municipality, stressing that the decision aims at social protection and not restricting business freedom.
“We're getting the bastards out of Brăila. I'm taking this decision.” said the mayor.
