Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, over 90 attacks have been recorded on Ukrainian territory near the border with Romania.

The Ministry of Defense reports that, since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, fragments of drones have been identified on Romanian territory in 47 situations, 12 this year alone.
“Since the beginning of the war, more than 90 attacks have been recorded on Ukrainian territory in the vicinity of the border with Romania. In 28 cases, penetrations of Russian drones into the national airspace were reported (the last one on May 29); in 47 situations, fragments of drones were identified on Romanian territory”according to the Ministry of National Defense.
In 2026, 32 cases of attacks were recorded near the border, the last one on May 29.
“In 23 cases, aircraft from the air police service were seized; in 15 cases, unauthorized intrusions of drones into national space were recorded (May 29)”, says MApN, in a press release.
At the same time, in 12 situations, fragments of drones were identified on the territory of Romania.
A drone crashed on Friday night, around 2:00 a.m., on a block of flats in Galati, in the Mazepa neighborhood, the incident being followed by an explosion and fire at an apartment located on the 10th floor of the building.
The mayor of Galați, Ionuț Pucheanu, says that only one apartment in the block where the drone fell was affected.
