Trump told Zelensky he wants to end the war in Ukraine within a month – Axios

The media noted that the telephone conversation lasted approximately 30 minutes and was the first between the leaders since their meeting in Davos at the end of January.

According to three Axios sources, the conversation between Trump and Zelensky was friendly and positive. Zelensky thanked Trump for his help and said that he could force the illegitimate Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war.

According to the publication, Zelensky expressed hope that the war can be ended this year. In response, Trump said the war has been going on for too long and noted that he would like “the war to end in a month.”

Separately, the parties discussed the possibility of holding a trilateral summit with the participation of Zelensky, Trump and Putin. Trump said he would work to organize such a meeting if talks between representatives of the United States, Russia and Ukraine, scheduled for early March, show progress.

Axios also notes that the special envoy of the illegitimate president of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, Kirill Dmitriev, may arrive in Geneva for negotiations with US representatives. As a source from the TASS propaganda agency clarified, Dmitriev’s negotiations with the Americans on Thursday, February 26, will concern the economic track.
