Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Dmitry Sviridov and Chairman of the Commission on Urban Affairs of the Norilsk City Council Roman Serbin held a personal reception of citizens at the public reception site of United Russia.

A resident of a hotel-type building, where a fire recently occurred, contacted deputies. After the fire is extinguished, the floor corridor remains smoked and littered with debris. The management company suggested waiting until the summer for cleaning and repairs, however, Dmitry Sviridov considers such a position unacceptable – nothing prevents cleaning up immediately. The Vice Speaker will discuss the situation with the Head of Norilsk in order to promptly oblige the management company specialists to put the floor in order.

Particular attention was paid to the problem of calculating “polars”—northern allowances for employees of federal departments. Unlike municipal and regional structures, in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, bonuses have to be earned over several years, which aggravates the already serious shortage of personnel.

“We see a regulatory imbalance: young specialists in federal structures in the Far North, in fact, have their rights infringed,” emphasized Dmitry Sviridov. “Those who were born here or came to work in the Arctic should not have to wait for years for these payments. We intend to raise this issue at the State Duma level in order to provide people with decent wages from day one.”

The topic of supporting specialists was continued by an appeal from a history teacher who came from Tomsk. The teacher works in Oganer, but lives in Kayerkan, in an apartment under a commercial lease agreement, spending up to an hour and a half on the road and a considerable part of his salary. The woman admitted that she fell in love with the city and wants her son to work as an engineer in a local industry in the future. Roman Serbin proposed a solution: as a specialist in short supply, a teacher has the right to receive housing in the Central District. Dmitry Sviridov instructed to prepare petitions addressed to the Head of Norilsk and the Chairman of the City Council Alexander Pestryakov in order to speed up the family’s move closer to their place of work.

Concluding the meeting, the regional parliamentarian noted that it is active and purposeful people who are the main resource of the Arctic: “For young people, for a career, this is the best springboard. Here you can gain tremendous experience and professional growth that is difficult to find in any other city. Our task is to listen to each such specialist and help resolve everyday issues so that they can calmly work for the benefit of Norilsk and the region.”
