A ride-sharing vehicle driver has been fined by police after he was filmed reversing across a pedestrian crossing to pick up customers. He has to pay a fine of over 600 lei, after blocking the road by making the prohibited maneuver.

In the images published online, you can see how a car stops at the pedestrian crossing, to give priority to a person crossing a road with one lane, then, taking the front of the car stopped in the other direction, the ride-sharing driver turns right on the pedestrian marking, waits for his customers who get into the car, then leaves, writes News.

The journalists from Ştiri de Cluj, who published the images, write that the incident occurred on Paris street in Cluj Napoca.

The policemen who saw the film identified and fined the driver who blocked the street to pick up his customers.

“On February 20 this year, the driver, namely a 28-year-old man from the municipality of Cluj-Napoca, was identified and invited to the police headquarters. Following the checks carried out, the police detected a violation from the road rules, which is why the man was penalized with a fine, in the total amount of 607.5 lei, and as a technical-administrative measure, 2 penalty points were applied to him”the Police officials sent.
